Project ''Natural Science Education Class''

In partnership with “Sagrado Corazón de Jesús” company, the education program was at the elementary school, Santa Teresa located in the Los Cocos community, Granada department. I led a series of educational workshops focused on environmental conservation. These workshops were held every Friday and targeted students in 4th, 5th, and 6th grades, ranging from 10 to 13 years old.

The main goal of the initiative was to educate children on the importance of protecting natural resources, with a special emphasis on water conservation. During these sessions, I taught lessons on aquifer protection, the ways they can be contaminated, and everyday practices we can adopt to preserve these valuable ecosystems. Additionally, each student received a field kit enabling them to measure pH levels and detect coliforms in water, essential tools given their reliance on well water and recurrent health issues related to waterborne contaminants.

Through dynamic and hands-on activities, the students not only learned about science and ecology but also actively engaged in protecting their environment. This experience not only heightened their ecological awareness but also contributed to a reduction in school absences due to gastrointestinal illnesses, thereby improving their quality of life and academic performance.

I led this program for two years, leaving a legacy of education and environmental commitment that the organization PCF continues to promote today.
